I was born in Tokyo, and I lived in three countries as a child; England, Japan and Hong Kong. After graduating from a university in the UK, I moved to Japan and worked at a language school for several years. I have been working as an independent teacher, translator and interpreter ever since! In 2020, I relocated back to UK and left beautiful Japan, where I had spent more than 20 years of my adult life.
In the many years of working in Japan, I taught numerous students with various backgrounds and needs. By creating personalised curriculum to meet those needs, I gained great satisfaction in seeing my students make amazing strides towards their goal.
Choice of words, usage of correct grammar, clear pronunciation are all vital elements of expressing oneself correctly.
However, there is more to communication.
Language and culture are inseparable. I, not only teach the language, but also the culture, customs and manners and much more, as they are all tools to making a great first impression, and hence, communication skills.
With the technique and expertise gained through more than 25 years of teaching experience, I hope to bring out the potential of each learner and support them reach their goals. Learning a language can be enjoyable and it widens your horizon! I would love to help your learning journey be easier and more fun!
